I like to cook, and my 21 year old says my Thanksgiving dressing is the best…
He’s my son!
But I’m not a very organized cook. I’ve been known to be in the middle of prepping the turkey and have to run to the store for twine…or have 6 meat thermometers that don’t work.
So this year I’m trying to get ahead of the game, and here’s my first ‘checklist’. I know these are all tools I need to make sure I have in my kitchen…and that I can find them!
Let’s do a couple of these checklists together during the holidays, want to? I figure if we do all this ahead of time, the day should go a lot smoother.
I did a little scouting around at williamssonoma.com and surlatable.com. and I stopped by Sur La Table. I found some nice items at both stores.

And I’m obsessed with this Revol casserole dish in black.
I had never heard of Revol before. It’s produced in France. It goes from freezer to oven to microwave, and this new black line has a finish that keeps food from absorbing oil, so I think it might make things nice and crispy. I think it may be perfect for my Thanksgiving dressing!

Happy shopping,
How about posting your dressing recipe for those of us who love dressing? I haven’t had good dressing since my wife died and my son and I love good dressing.
Okay Rod, I kind of do it by memory but let me see if I can write it down. Thanks for asking!
So Jane where did your dressing recipe come from? My mom makes her mother’s recipe that she has modified over the years. It’s a cornbread dressing.
I love Crate and Barrel for gadgets and unusual utensils.
I would love to see your recipe, also, Jane. Thank you, in advance, if you can share it.
Hi Sally, Yes I plan to post the dressing recipe. It’s in my head but I’m going to try!
‘Deep Fried’
Jane, have you had deep-fried turkey?
I have had, grandmas, moms, mother-inlaw, and X’s turkey!
All were delicious… But nothing to compare to a deep-fried turkey right out of the pot and strait to the plate.
It is so moist, it can be cut with plastic ware! Hmmmm-good!!!!
Of course plastic might not look to good
on the table, unless you’re from the hills! Lol
Happy thanksgiving, Jane
and happy birthday too!
Yes I have Mike and it’s delicious!
