Spring Break starts this weekend, and you don’t have plans yet?

Sometimes last minute trips are the best! Here are 5 of my favorites:

Perini Ranch at Buffalo Gap:

This is a short 2 1/2 hour drive and you can do an entire weekend for under $400.00
My friend Chef Stephan Pyles had told me about the restored  “Camp House” he stayed in here.
I loved it!  The little cabin is nicely decorated and has a comfortable king bed and a daybed, so it works for a small family. (There is a larger house next door for up to two families).
The cabin is sheltered by a canopy of live oaks and a gentle evening breeze blows across your covered porch. The award winning Perini Ranch Steakhouse is less than a half mile away for dinner, and the next morning you can drive into Buffalo Gap, where you’ll find a historic town center and a couple of shops that are fun to browse.
Big Bend:

From the Marfa lights to gorgeous canyons and loads of Old West Nostalgia, you’ll be hard pressed to find a better get away from it all spot right here in the Lone Star State. We took our son Michael here when he was 5. The historic Gage Hotel is one of my favorites.

Houston:

The rodeo is on—all during spring break! If you want to catch a concert, there are plenty to choose from during the week the kids are out of class, and all the way until March 22nd!

If you want to head out of state but still within driving distance, check out one of the state parks in Arkansas for campsites and cabin rentals.  Oklahoma is boasting the newly renovated Sequoyah State Park Lodge with a 50% discount through Amazon Local.

Wherever you go, whatever you do…relax and have fun!
