I love my new iPhone 6 Plus…especially the beautiful camera pictures! But…
My phone has been using up battery like crazy. After doing some reading I discovered I’m not alone…the iPhone 6 (especially the Plus) has some big battery draining features. The good news is they can be turned off!
Here are the 5 TIPS I discovered. I’ve tried them, and they work.
1. What’s draining your battery?
It’s easy to find out.
Go to Settings > General > Usage > Battery Usage. Close applications that are not needed.
2. Manage notification widgets
Go into Settings > Notifications and scroll through to turn off notifications from apps you don’t need.
3. Turn off location-tracking apps
(You can leave on functions like Find My iPhone). Go to Settings > Privacy > Location Services > Share My Location, to turn off others. Just turn it back on when you want to share your current location through messages.
4. Turn off Handoff
Handoff lets you move from device to device, such as when you are writing an email and switch off between your iPhone and iPad. If you are not planning on multitasking between devices, turn it off by going to Settings > General > Handoff & Suggested Apps.
5. Stop fetching
The fetching function pushes email notifications to your home screen. Instead, manually check your email and turn off this feature by going to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Fetch New Data.
Also, try the traditional battery saving moves like turning down Wallpaper Brightness; by the way, the new “parallax” feature that makes it seem like your wallpaper is moving behind the apps is a battery killer.
You might want to turn it off, no matter how pretty it is!
Hope that helps,
