This picture was taken when I was judging a contest between food trucks…
I am amazed at the quality of cuisine they are able to dish out from the confines of a tiny truck kitchen.
And because I like the idea of helping bring customers to small businesses like food trucks, every Friday I am going to feature a food truck you might like visiting over your weekend. I can’t think of a better way to kick off Food Truck Friday than with the food truck that actually named one of it’s hot dogs after me, Sassy Hot Dogs. Talk about feeling like a big dog!
Sassy asked my Jane McGarry Facebook friends to choose between 3 different dogs. One of them was the “Me Tarzan You Jane”. My friends came up with The Texas Jane: a gourmet hot dog, grilled onions, 2 strips of sliced bacon, pastrami, lettuce, chopped tomato, fresh jalapeño & choice of mustards. Now that’s a mouth full!
I can tell you that their “Plain Jane”, a hot dog with mustard, onion, and jalapeno is also yummy.
Enjoy your weekend, and if you get a yearning for a good old fashioned hot dog, stop by the Sassy Hot Dog Food Truck . And ask for “Jane”.
If you want to nominate your favorite food truck to be featured on Food Truck Friday tell me in the comments below, and have a wonderful Friday.
Well obviously you know which one I believe is #1…Ruthie’s! In addition to being named the “Best grilled cheese in Texas” and DMag rating our sandwich, The Boss, one of its top 10 dishes last year…we also serve up Mac Mania…Mac-n-Cheese bowls that will knock your socks off…plus our Ruthie’s Dozen initiative is the bomb! We are the only food truck with an ongoing nonprofit initiative that gives back to local NPO’s in our community….I wouldn’t be anywhere else but with Ruthie’s Food Trucks!
That’s my next stop!
Jane…I can vouch for Ruthies. The best grilled cheese I have ever had. And Kelly Coughlin Bennett is an angel. They work hard to support several non-profits.
They’re next Audie!
I nominate Auntie AM’s Sweet Stop. It’s a dessert truck. Ann Marie servers up the most delicious cupcakes.
Gayla, I will have to try that one, thanks!
bet that was Fun! Id try them all 🙂
It was Sandy, thanks for commenting:)
Thank you so much for a nice write up Jane. When your readers drop by my truck if they not only ask for a Texas Jane, just tell me Jane sent ya you will get a free order of our homemade potato chips.
Will do! Thanks for commenting Sassy:)
If you like Sushi, I would stop by The Crazy Fish Food Truck at Clyde Warren Park. Truck Owned by Tenielle Powers.
Thanks Garland, I’ll do that!
