I can’t think of a more “real person” to ask about Thanksgiving than Dale Hansen…
I first ran into Dale when he was covering the Colonial golf tournament in Ft. Worth years ago. I remember thinking “he’s a really tall guy!” Dale is an imposing figure in more ways than one. I’ve always admired his work.
Dale has been the Sports Director and sports anchor for the 6 & 10 o’clock news on WFAA-TV since 1983. He works a lot of holidays, but he still celebrates Thanksgiving, with his family and friends.
Dale, what are you especially thankful for this holiday season?
What’s your favorite part of the Thanksgiving dinner?
I do like the creamed corn my mom used to serve but that’s about it.
So it’s chili every year and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Can I come??
There’s plenty for everyone. Come on
I make a mean guacamole, Dale.
Thank you Dale, for your time,
In 2011, Dale used his “Thank God for Kids” segment that airs on the Sunday of the week before Christmas to tell viewers he was a victim of sexual abuse as a child, in hopes others would come forward.
Dale is active today in the efforts against domestic violence and sexual abuse.
What you see is what you get with Dale.. I am “Real” Fan of his.. thanks Jane for this !
My pleasure Yvonne,I like him!

Thanks for taking the time to comment Mark. Dale is “what you see is what you get”:) and he’s always been nice to me!
Jane,
Dale Hansen has always “told it like is”and I appeciate that. If I could put together an all star news team, both of you would be on that team.
🙂
That’s so nice of you Roger, thank you much, Jane
Dale Hansen….the hardest working man in television!
I know a couple of hard working men in TV Chris but he’s certainly one of them! LOL Thanks for the comment, Jane
