It’s been a big year for North Texan Janine Turner…
She’s starred in a new movie with Anthony Hopkins and written another book, A Little Bit Vulnerable.
I had always loved Maggie, the character Janine played on the hit TV series Northern Exposure, more than 20 years ago. Maggie was beautiful, but more important than that a wonderful, fun, smart woman…much like I found Janine to be when I interviewed her for my “Texas Legends” series on Good Morning Texas. If you missed that, here’s the link: Janine Turner on GMT.
Today, she spends most of her free time at her ranch north of Dallas with her lovely 16 year old daughter Juliette and her Mom, Janice.
Janine what are you especially thankful for this Thanksgiving?
I am thankful for a loving God who gives me grace, I am grateful for the blessing of my beautiful daughter, and I am grateful for my sobriety.
You’ve had a big year!
Jane, I’ve done 3 movies in the past year and a half. Solace with Anthony Hopkins, Occupy Texas shot in Texas and I just finished shooting Ivy League Farmer in South Carolina.
So, when you finally get to sit down for Thanksgiving is there one thing on your table that’s your favorite part of the meal?
The turkey is my favorite part!
Thank you for taking almost an entire day with the Good Morning Texas crew and me at your ranch Janine. I made a new friend this year.
***Here are some other “fun facts” about North Texas native Janine Turner, that I didn’t use in my Texas Legends piece.
Janine, what’s your favorite Tex-Mex? I love Joe T’s in Ft. Worth, especially sitting outside on the patio in pretty weather.
Your guilty pleasure? It’s a toss-up, chocolate or Fritos!
If you’re going to watch a movie, what’s your all time favorite? Field of Dreams, because I love Kevin Costner and happy endings.
Do you go with a date? Do you date? I date occasionally but no one special.
What are your three most important qualities in a man? The most important of all is religious compatibility, but after that I would say love of country, intellectual curiosity and a good sense of humor!
Do you have a beauty product secret? Pure shea butter is the only cream I use on my face or body, and I can’t live without lip liner, lipstick and mascara.
You can see much more of what Janine and her daughter Juliette are doing these days at her website Constituting America.
