When my Mom died I was worried for my Dad. That’s not Mom in the pic…
My Mom and Dad had spent barely a night apart in their 59 years of marriage. My Dad was left alone, in a big empty house.
My brother was great and stopped by just about every day. I tried to go over and keep my Dad company or take him to lunch. But he was lonely. It was sad.
So, look at that picture of my Dad that was taken just last week. Does he look like a sad lonely man?
Not anymore. You can not imagine how happy we all are since my Dad moved and found all kinds of new friends, including his lady friend, Tucker.
My Dad moved to the C.C. Young Retirement Center (that’s where he met Tucker) and Thursday November 13, I’ll be emceeing the Wrap It Up Luncheon at the Dallas Country Club benefitting the Benevolence Fund at C.C. Young – the place my Dad now calls home. I hope you’ll come to the luncheon and find out more about the place that has literally changed my Dad’s life.
Mrs. Ross Perot is the Honorary Chair for the event. The fundraising luncheon includes holiday shopping with unique and one of a kind items, a fashion presentation by Betty Reiter, Inc., and a special “interview” with me and my Dad.
Tickets for the Wrap It Up Luncheon begin at $175 and can be purchased by contacting the Fundraising Office at C. C. Young at 214-841-2909. Click here to download the official invitation: Wrap It Up Invitation 2014.
I’m not sure how I’m gonna do this event because I know I’m gonna cry, sad tears…and happy ones.
I hope to see you there!
Jane, your dad does look happy, and that’s a very good thing.
Yes, he is very happy and that makes our family so happy! Thanks for commenting Mary Nelle:)
Jane,
I am having the same issue right now with my mom. Mom lost her second husband last August and is very lonely. One of the issue is my mom(83) has had some health set backs and her mobility isn’t the best. After the first of the year we will have to sell her house and were not sure where to put mom. Our funds are limited…
God bless you Jane, it’s hard with an aging parent. Hang tight….
Thank you Tony and all my best to your Mom.
Dear Jane,
I tried to send you comments about the lady in the picture with your father ( my aunt Tucker). I can’t tell if it was forwarded properly ( maybe it was to long ?). Could you please let me know if it made it to you ?
Thank you. Cindy
Hi Cindy, I got this but not your comments, want to try again? Thanks Jane
That is very nice Jane!
Happy for him, you, and your family! :):):) Mike
