It’s always amazing to me how one simple coat of paint can make a room sparkle.
My good friend and Decorate Editor Ken Blasingame picked this rich hue of blue to brighten up a blah bathrooom.
Really nice pieces of art that simply faded against an ecru wall now pop in this small powder room.
Crisp white fixtures with simple chrome hardware give the room a crisp, clean and modern feel.
The large hammered silver Indian mirror was purchased at Pier One Imports.
It’s only a few weeks until guests will be visiting your home for the holidays, and this is a simple project you could easily do yourself this weekend.
A little touch of blue might be plenty for you. As you can see from the final picture, I like turquoise enough to make a whole kitchen of it! My kitchen makes me happy, and for me, that is the key to good decorating. If I smile when I walk in the room it’s a job well done.
Do you have a decorating dilemma you would like to solve? A room that you want to brighten up? A piece of furniture that you wish looked better than it does? Ask me about it in the comments below. I’ll be happy to try and help!
Happy Decorating,
Looks nice!
I like natural wooden walls.
It’s like ladies with less makeup.
It leaves something for the imagination to read!
Very nice Mike, Jane.
What are you thoughts on yucky wood paneling??? Since removing it is not an option 🙁 I need some ideas!
Kim, I love painted wood paneling. You should be able to buy paint at Home Depot that actually will even cover the wood without a prep. Ask them about it!
Thank you!
I love color, nice choice
Thanks Kay, it really brightens things up:)
