Sometimes on a cold winter night all you want is a delicious cup of hot chocolate…
And there is a simple secret that makes hot chocolate into a sinfully delicious dessert.
Before you pour the hot chocolate, add a teaspoon of sweet butter to the cup. Now pour.
This little trick turns hot chocolate into a super-rich dessert. Don’t use half & half because it will make this too heavy, and I always put just a dash of vanilla in my hot chocolate.
Just right for a cold night like tonight!
Enjoy,
Half & half too heavy? When they asked Julia Child for a substitute for butter, she said to use heavy cream.
What time is your segment on in the morning. It’sIt’s good to see you again.
I think it has to be Half & Half or butter Carl, not both! LOL. And I’ll be letting you know about the Good Morning Texas appearance. Thanks Jane
Okay, I have to ask. Do you use a packet of cocoa mix or do you make it from scratch? And do you use boiling water or milk? My son loves hot chocolate and I usually heat up milk instead of water. The butter though sounds decadent. (Last question: salted or unsalted?)
Hi Lyn, I just use the packets you buy at the store, nothing fancy! I do agree that milk is better, and either salted or unsalted butter is fine by me.
Have fun with your son! Jane
