When I interviewed Iraq war veteran Jacob Schick we talked about the upcoming movie “American Sniper”…

about the life of Navy SEAL Chris Kyle. The film, which opened Christmas Day, is directed by Clint Eastwood.

Jake Schick has a minor role and was anxious to see it in the theater.

Schick, high school football star, lost his right leg, part of his left hand and his body was left mangled in an Iraqi blast, but his heart and spirit are bigger than ever. Talking with him left tears in my eyes and pride in my heart.

Here’s the link to my Good Morning Texas interview:  Jacob Schick:American Hero.

Schick lives in Frisco with the wife he met while recovering from his injuries, and their son. As we stop to appreciate all we are thankful for in 2015, I think this is a good place to start.
