Bvlgari welcomes lots of shoppers, but the second floor is private…
We got an exclusive tour and I’m going to show you some amazing pieces.
When you enter the store, the foyer is from the original Via Condotti shop that opened in 1884. The crown just over my head is one of several on the walls and represents royalty from around the world who wear Bvlgari jewels.
The hall just beyond the foyer is a showcase for one of a kind Bvlgari pieces like this spectacular bracelet.
Bvlgari founder, Sotirios Boulgaris, was Greek and incorporated the vivid colors of the Mediterranean, used a rich gold for settings, and combined different levels of stones, like emeralds alongside turquoise.
Texas women love the vibrant colors and spectacular combinations.
Maybe the most famous Bvlgari client was Elizabeth Taylor, who slipped in a side door with Richard Burton during and after filming “Cleopatra” to purchase several spectacular pieces, including this diamond and sapphire necklace.
Bvlgari took us on a private tour of the second floor, which houses the Bvlgari Heritage Collection.
I cherish the few pieces I own. They are uniquely stylishly Italian. As Elizabeth Taylor said, “I don’t know how to speak Italian…I only know one word in Italian, Bvlgari“.
